| Basic Wiring Protection
If you are using a Hot Rod Wires Harness you do not have
to be concerned about this because our harnesses are built
with this protection. However if you are doing your
own wiring this is very important.
It is important that every circuit in the electrical system
has a protection devise so that if the wiring is grounded,
shorted or over loaded the harness will not be damaged. This
is accomplished in several ways.
First the wiring harness main power supply from the battery
needs to be protected with either the correct gauge fusible
link or correct size maxi fuse. Each individual circuit
within the wiring harness is protected with the correct size
fuse or circuit breaker. For example the correct size
tail and park lamp fuse would protect these circuits if a
problem occurred. The seal beam headlight circuits
are protected with a circuit breaker built into the headlight
switch. This would protect these circuits if a problem
occurred.
